About Erica LS

Erica has always been passionate about people and expression. She has an old soul and is originally from Detroit, MI. It was early on when she first began writing short stories, poetry, and sketching anything that captured her heart. She fell deeply in love with the downtown Detroit museums and science center; which sparked her curious imagination and appreciation of culture.

Erica began her freshman year of high school on the west coast, in Las Vegas, NV. Vegas taught her what she was called to do... the hard way! She faced many attacks spiritually, mentally, and emotionally which led her to the Graceful arms of God! At that young age, she battled depression and anxiety alone. While on the outside she loved being around people as an athlete, coach, and even a licensed massage therapist, she still struggled when she was alone.

Disciple of Christ

It took moving to Dallas, TX for Erica to really begin to walk in her divine purpose. June 4th, 2014 Erica rededicated her life to Christ and got baptized the day before her natural birthday. She began learning about what breaks her heart, the power of her testimony, and the benefits of being an obedient and willing vessel for Jesus Christ to work through. She was called to teach young ladies Kingdom empowerment, help those who struggle with mental illness, and influence the Body through expression!

She gives Him the glory for renewing her mind, restoring her heart, and allowing her to be a Light. God spoke "influence" as her purpose during a dark season and from that moment forward, she has been growing and pouring into others. She has spoken at two churches and served in youth ministries. She was ordained as a minister in 2015 under Covenant Unlimited Ministries International. That same year, Erica started an online ministry, through a popular social media platform, that was considered a safe space for sisterhood, encouragement, and genuine support.

Mother of Two

Part of Erica's journey has been two miscarriages prior to having two children. Jamaine Jr. and Jamia Emilia bring her so much joy and honor! With Jamaine Jr., she began to reflect on the importance of external influence and generations to come. With Jamiah, Erica began to self-reflect deeper than ever. In order to truly pass on wisdom to them and encourage them in their divine calling, she deemed it necessary to address anything that could prevent that. Through Bible-based therapy and a strong support system, she emerged ready to take on the adventures of parenthood without her past getting in the way.

Education and Affiliations

Erica has earned a Bachelor's degree from Ashford University Forbe's School of Business in Service Management and a Master's Degree in Psychology. She intends to challenge work culture norms to bring life to genuine development and healthy work environments.

Self-Published Author

During Erica's first maternity leave for Jamaine Jr., the book "12 Weeks of Mind Renewal" was dropped in her spirit. This Holy Spirit led devotional was a welcomed surprise! During this season, she was working on completing a book of poetry to release. The devotional took another year or so before it was published due to being concerned with minor details instead of the major impact it could have. After speaking with some mighty women of God, a few mentors, and family, she crossed the finish line and began selling the book through Amazon, Barnes & Nobel, and other bookstores. After having her daughter Jamiah, she began working on the Leader's Guide for the devotional. This book is special because it follows along with the devotional for small groups to use. It includes activities for all 12 weeks and a certificate once the devotional has been completed.
